Venezuela’s Ongoing Crisis and Humanitarian Challenges
Venezuela has experienced a prolonged economic and political crisis since 2013, resulting in widespread shortages of basic goods, healthcare, and education. According to UN reports, millions of Venezuelans have fled the country, creating a refugee crisis across Latin America. Many children remain in Venezuela, facing disrupted schooling, malnutrition, and limited access to healthcare. International aid efforts have been ongoing but face logistical and political challenges.
Shakira’s involvement follows her previous humanitarian work, including efforts to support Venezuelan refugees and promote education initiatives in Latin America. Her new partnership with FIFA and Global Citizen Education marks a strategic expansion of her advocacy.
“I am committed to helping the children of Venezuela access education and hope this partnership will bring meaningful change.”
